ISB student¡¯s efforts help paraplegic dogs walk again
pubdate:2006-07-24 15:37
On March 19, 2006, Kalen Reynolds, a student of International School of Beijing, through her personal effort and the support obtained from a US dog carts company, Doggon Wheels, delivered to the BHAEEC the 8 wheel carts custom-made for the 8 disabled dogs. The 8 carts were all donated by Doggon Wheels after they received the emails from Kalen introducing the situation of the BHAEEC and the 8 disabled dogs.
Mm. Zhang arranged for the media to report on the donation, and both local television news and several newspapers featured stories on the donation of the carts. The dogs adapted immediately to their newfound mobility. “We put the first dog in its wheels, found its toy and tossed it, and it just took off,” Kalen said. “We thought it would take them a longer time to figure it out.”
